Butterfly Week - Day Two

Hello!  Happy Tuesday!  Did you have a fantastic Monday?  I took my son, Adam to camp yesterday...Diamond Arrow Christian Camp (he's gonna LOVE it!) and then on to my moms!  It's actually a little bit cooler down here...only 100 degrees!

For today's card I used the Stake Your Claim and Papillon Potpourri stamp sets.  The colors I chose are Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla and Sahara Sand. I added some Sahara Sand 7/8" Lace and tied a bow with the Very Vanilla Thick Bakers Twine.  The punches I used are the flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and the Bitty Butterfly punch.  I added some Basic Pearls and a Metal Rimmed Pearl...LOVE THESE!

The sentiment for the inside of the card is from the Celebrate Today stamp set. Simple...but so cute!

Thanks for stopping by...and have a TERRIFIC DAY!

Butterfly Week - Day One

Good morning friends!  I hope you had a beautiful weekend!  I had kind of a tough one...just kinda down in the dumps!  It is a growing time for me and my family.

When I am feeling like this I find it very calming and healing for me to go out to my workshop and create!  After all...my workshop is my HAPPY PLACE!!   What I came up with is my BUTTERFLY WEEK!  I hope you like it!   I'm going to be in Modesto, helping my mom this week so I will be posting from the valley!  I wish she lived on the coast...so it would be a cooler climate.

I hope you aren't getting bored with my new favorite technique....stamping with my clear block!  I promise...I won't use it again this week!

Today I have a card that I made using the Timeless Elegance designer paper, the Bold Butterfly framelits, the Watercolor Wings stamp set, the Something to Say stamp set (for the sentiment), 1 1/4" Jute Ribbon and Basic Rhinestones.

Isn't it BEAUTIFUL!?!?  Let me show you how I made it!

First...I found my inspiration!  I knew I wanted to do a butterfly, but I wanted it to be unique...and real.  SO....I googled...colors of butterflies!  This one...called Mr. Green was my favorite!

Next...use your Bold Butterfly framelits to cut the large butterfly in Whisper White cardstock.

Then...ink up your clear block.  I set mine over the actual butterfly so that I could get the colors where I wanted them. The colors that I chose are Bermuda Bay and Old Olive.

I then spritzed my block with water...remember to hold the spritzer 8 - 10 inches away or your ink will be washed away. After it dried, I stamped the details in Memento Black ink.

Finally, I cut the smaller butterfly out with the Bold Butterfly framelit in Bermuda Bay cardstock. I added some ribbon and some bling to finish it off!

Don't forget the inside of your card!

Birthdays and Butterflies

TGIF!!!! Hope your Friday is treating you well....as for me....A FORGOT TO BLOG THIS MORNING!!! YIKES!!!
Here I am now though.....so sorry to those of you who check in first thing in the morning!

For today's card I used the colors Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake, Hello Honey and Whisper White.  I used the stamp set Papillon Potpourri, Happy Happenings (for the sentiment) and the very cool background stamp...Brushstrokes!  I can't wait to make some groovy plaids with it.  I punched the butterflies with the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches.   I stamped and punched two, so I would have a background for all of them.  I also used some Basic Pearls, Hello Honey 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon and 1/4" Rich Razzleberry Cotton Ribbon.  Simple and oh so cute AND it went together really quickly!

Don't forget to something on the inside of your card.  I know you get TIRED of me telling you that...but...it sure does add charm to your card!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY TODAY and ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!

CHOOSE HAPPINESS

Good Morning.....LIFE IS GOOD!  I hope for you too!  I'm headed down the mountain today...HOPEFULLY (my daughter was sick yesterday and isn't up yet) to deliver SU goodies to my gals!  I think we'll go see the new Jurassic Park movie...FUNNY...I saw the first one with my oldest two boys...and now the new one with my youngest two kiddos!

I wanted to share a gift bag and tag that I made with you today!  I made it with the NEW Gift Bag Punch Board using Timeless Elegance designer paper.

After making the bag, I colored one of the flowers with my Aqua Painter. The colors I chose are Rich Razzleberry and Certainly Celery. For the tag I used the NEW Tags and Labels Framelits.  I cut two...the largest in Basic Black and the next size down in Very Vanilla.  You know I am just loving the colore washed technique...stamping with a clear block, so I did that here with Rich Razzleberry and Blushing Bride.  The bird is from the Choose Happiness stamp set.

I made a couple of flowers using the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, one in Rich Razzleberry and I punched two in Blushing Bride.  These I layered and rolled to make them start to come apart.  I added a Metal Rimmed Pearl and several Basic Pearls to add some elegance.  I really love how it turned out! Now I need someone to give a gift to...

Artistically Awesome Showcase - Day Three

Well hello there!  Things are heating up here in California!  We're gearing up for lots of heat over the next ten days!  I HATE....ABSOLUTELY HATE it when it is OVER 100!!!!  I'm thinking a trip to the coast might be needed...the temperature drops 30 to 40 degrees in just a two hour drive!  I have a son in Phoenix, Arizona and a son in Perry, Georgia and they're gonna be feelin' the hot weather too!  I'm not gonna complain...I'm just gonna sparkle (sweat) and be grateful for another day!

I have another card for you today using the Artistically Awesome stamp set. I cased the layout of the card from a gal named Mariana Grigsby...I think I found it on Pinterest, but I can't find it again to link to it...nor can I find the picture that I saved for reference.

I do have the card I created though....THANK GOODNESS!!

The designer paper for the background and the flowers is from the In-Color collection.  I used my Circle Framelits to cut circles in the Mint Macaron designer paper.  I stamped the images that I wanted from the Artistically Awesome stamp set on Whisper White cardstock...placing them where the circles were cut.  I added vellum to the back of the designer paper to give the stamping a softer look.  The flowers are punched with the Petite Petals punch and their color is Watermelon Wonder. The base of the card is Tip Top Taupe.  I added some bling by using the new Metal Rimmed Pearls and some sequins....a nice touch I think!

I added vellum to the back of the designer paper to give the stamping a softer look.

Don't forget to stamp the inside of your card!  I added some more sequins just for fun!  I'm really sorry that the photo is a bit blurry...I just couldn't get it to take right...I have no idea what I was doing wrong...I tried several times and this is the best of the bunch!

Artistically Awesome Showcase - Day Two

HELLO...hello...hello!  Gosh..it's already 4pm!  My hubby came home EARLY from work...and got on the computer before I could get my post in!  Of course, it didn't help that I went for a hike with my kids this morning!

I have a great card to share with you today!  I have a friend who is a VERY TALENTED artist.  She put a picture on her facebook page....the colors were so beautiful that I decided to use the picture to inspire today's card!

Aren't these colors AMAZING?!!!  SO VIVID!  SO BEAUTIFUL!

Here is how you can see my friends art!  I can't wait to hang my pieces!

OR

Here's my card!  I chose the colors Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White.  I also used Pool Party for a wash beneath the dragonfly!  I LOVE this stamp set so much!

For the dragon fly I used my Stampin' Write markers...Basic Black and Bermuda Bay.  I added some Dazzling Diamonds after the ink dried with a bit of glue from the 2-Way Glue Pen.

I cut the circle in the piece of Cajun Craze cardstock with the Circle framelits and then embossed it with the Elegant Dots embossing folder.

The butterflies are made with the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and punched out with the Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly punches.
I added a vellum punched butterfly to the Elegant Butterfly with a tiny paperclip.

To finish the card off, I added some White 1 1/4" Jute Ribbon, with an Antique Brad and tied a few bows with pieces of 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon.  LOVE THIS LOOK!

...as usual....don't forget to decorate the inside of your card...but leave plenty of room to write a note!  What a blessing your card will be to someone!

Artistically Awesome Showcase - Day One (A Wedding Card)

Good Morning!  I hope you had a TERRIFIC weekend!  Mine was BUSY and WONDERFUL!  My daughter, Sarah, came up for a visit!  We went to a BEAUTIFUL wedding in Hat Creek Saturday evening (our oldest son, Trevor was a groomsman...so we got to see him too) and watched our son, Adam play baseball in Fortuna on Sunday.  I must say...Fortuna was the perfect place to watch a double header....it was a very comfortable 65 degrees, while back home it was 96 degrees.

Today at 5:00pm on my facebook, my Stampin' UP! group is having a facebook hop.  I chose to use the stamp set ARTISTICALLY AWESOME and will be showcasing it this week here on my blog!

I made the invitations for the wedding so I knew ahead of time what the theme was and I created my card around that theme.  I LOVE how it turned out and I can't wait to get back out to my workshop to create some more with this set. The colors I chose are Blushing Bride, Whisper White and Crumb Cake.  I used Natural Chevron Trim, Burlap Ribbon, a button from the Subtle Buttons set and one of the NEW Metal Rimmed Pearls to embellish the card.

I say it all the time....DON'T forget to stamp the inside of your card!  It adds so much to it!  The sentiment are from the Big News stamp.

My project for tomorrow is using the same stamp set, but has a COMPLETELY different feel...come back and see what you think!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a FABULOUS rest of your day!  Try to get a little FUN in!!

Timeless Elegance

Hello Everyone!  I have a beautiful card to share with you today!  It's made with the new Timeless Elegance designer paper.

I cut a piece of the designer paper 3 3/4" X 5" and mounted it on a piece of 4" X 5 1/4" Basic Black cardstock.  I then mounted it on my Very Vanilla card base.

The sentiment is from the Build a Birthday stamp set.  I stamped it in Memento Black ink on a piece of 3/4" X 3" Very Vanilla cardstock, then mounted it on a piece of 7/8" X 3 1/8" Basic Black cardstock.

I used the Spiral Flower die to make a small rosette out of Basic Black paper and the flower from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack for the Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss cardstock. I used a Basic Pearl for the center of one flower and one of the new Metal Rimmed Pearls (LOVE) for the other.   I tied a bow with linen thread to give it a little bit of RUSTIC feel to this elegant card.

Don't forget about the inside of your card!  It adds so much!

I have a wedding to go to on Saturday...maybe I'll change the sentiment to make a BEAUTIFUL Wedding card.

Thanks for checking in again!  I'll see ya tomorrow!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

I leave you with this thought....

You've Got This

Hey there!  How's it going in your neck of the woods?  I've had a busy morning with Adam and Kate!  We camped out on our trampoline last night!  I LOVED doing that when I was a kid with all of my cousins!  GREAT MEMORIES!  Dad had to work this morning, so he didn't camp out with us...boy did he miss out on the FUN!  I decided to skip BOOTCAMP and sleep in with the kids...Kate was so excited.  Adam only made it 'til about 5am..but Kate and made it 'til 7:30am. We got up and I made Aebleskiver's for breakfast!  I haven't made them in such a long time because they aren't very quick.  They are a Danish delicacy....basically a filled pancake in the shape of a ball...you have to have a special pan....YUMMY!

I have a card to share with you today that I made with the You've Got This stamp set!

The colors I used were Crumb Cake, Tip Top Taupe (a new in-color), Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White and Delightful Dijon (another new in-color). I stamped the background in Crumb Cake and the flower in Tip Top taupe.  I used the new Bohemian Designer Washi Tape with some Basic Pearls and the Tip Top Taupe 1" Dotted Lace Trim.

It's a quick card to put together...don't forget to do the inside of your card too...it adds a little something special!

I also want to share what's on sale this week! DON'T MISS OUT!!!

Thanks bunches for stopping by...yet again!
Have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY!

Celebrating FLAG DAY!

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you had a FABULOUS weekend and found something super fun to do!  Yesterday was Flag Day and our little mountain town lines both sides of Main Street (also known as Highway 299) with flags.  I ALWAYS love to see the flags out...one of these days I'm gonna get a picture...but I have to get up early...to get one without cars in it!

In honor of Flag Day I decided to do a flag card using the two techniques I shared with you last week!  Do you remember what they were?  Let me refresh your memory...the one was Watercolor wash on a clear block and one was Bokeh.

Here's what I came up with!  I think I'll send it to a young man who went to school with my older sons and enlisted!

This was such a simple, fun card to make!  Just use your Stampin' Write markers to color on your clear block.  My first one was backwards because I colored it on the block as you would see it...when I stamped it, I realized I had to color it backwards.  It's fun...give it a try!

Do you know why we celebrate Flag Day?  We celebrate it because June 14, 1777 is the day the United States adopted it's first flag.  President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation in 1916 establishing June 14 as Flag Day.  In August of 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress. It's not a Federal holiday...but it is a celebrated day in my little town!

Thanks for stopping by...and have a FANTASTIC day!

It's March 17th.......

Have a FANTASTIC day and ENJOY the corned beef & cabbage!
